Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the Asia-Pacific premiere of Wicked: For Good

Devoted supporters of the actress are urging that a man who jumped a barricade and seized the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating video reveals the Australian man bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

History of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account features clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney show in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over the Star's Well-being

Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" wrote one more message on Instagram.

Several fans also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while some requested social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's content.

Response and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Many of fans had gathered in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including a number who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The motion picture, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a dual version of the popular stage musical Wicked, which centers on the unexpected bond between two distinct witches.

The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored 10 award recognitions, winning a pair for best costume and production design.
