Golden sun, savory pies and iconic stadiums - what else would an England cricket fan desire?

Realistically, they'd hope for an Ashes series in Australia where they retain a possibility to win back the Ashes once the opening games are done.

This is not the case during this tour, after the hosts' dominant triumph in Adelaide put the hosts leading three-nil for the fourth consecutive series on home turf.

England's famous supporters' group, the organized fan base, have a large group traveling for the last two matches in the SCG and MCG.

There are also travel parties who will celebrate the holidays overseas, as well as loved ones heading for a special expedition.

Fans with Booked Tickets

A group of four supporters are among those affected.

The group had their itineraries and entry credentials arranged for the Melbourne and Sydney matches "12 months ago", hoping to witness a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia outplay the visitors in just a short period from their residence in the north of England.

"All my colleagues has been teasing me regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," said Sam.

"The hope was that we would have something to play for still when we got there."

Diminishing Hope

Optimism was high about England's chances of securing a first win in 15 years for a victory down under ahead of the tour.

Yet now they are looking at the possibility of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 matches when the Boxing Day Test begins in the MCG on Christmas Day.

Ben Stokes' side - and their fans - will be desperate to avoid a clean sweep.

One sibling noted the "thrill and enjoyment" of head coach Brendon McCullum's 'Bazball' in recent years had "reinvigorated" the five-day game for England fans.

However, the group said they had realistic outlooks for the fourth and fifth Tests - and all they are asking for from the players is "a show of spirit".

"Every pundit alludes to it, but it all comes down to fortitude. 'Bazball' has been turned into a buzzword now that is just, like, nonsense cricket," commented another sibling.

"During a long match, you should apply yourself. Playing at deliveries 'sixth stump' areas has never been in the coaching manuals, and that is mainly the fault the top order."

Looking Ahead

When questioned if he believed England will win a match in this Ashes series, Sam said: "It looks like the Aussies are just too good currently."

"It will require more than one player that makes a significant contribution and produces a match-winning display."

Regardless of the result, the group remains looking forward to the trip.

"We are going to have a fantastic experience regardless," said Katie. "Our approach is that mindset."

"Obviously it is disappointing we aren't fighting for more, but we have made a substantial financial commitment by now."

"We plan to savor spending the festive season in Australia. Additionally, it's our first experience abroad during the festive period."

An educator, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her Christmas holidays.

"As a backup plan, I can play golf to turn to," Katie concluded.
