Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
