19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to get a championship is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the last five points to take the lead.

The pair exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour championship, took control to create a decider.

The opponent saved four initial break points in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
