Canada's Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Meeting Versus Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the championship in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays advanced to their initial Fall Classic after 1993 by beating the Mariners in the final seventh game of the American League Championship Series.

Trailing by two runs, the star outfielder delivered a three-run home run in the seventh frame, guiding the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 triumph in the series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the anticipated championship.

"I'm thrilled for this squad, Toronto, our country," Springer stated, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "It's truly an incredible feeling."

The veteran has now connected for 23 total October home runs, ranking him third in history after Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that moment except for him with his October magic," remarked Schneider.

Seattle, after leading the early in the series, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Manager Dan Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's painful" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but praised their work throughout the year.

"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the losing end of this one," he continued.

Toronto won the World Series on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
