Actor Rejects Anti-Vaccine Views Following Narrating Disputed Covid Feature
Liam Neeson has provided his voice to a recent film that challenges the legitimacy of vaccines and praises ex- cabinet secretary RFK Jr.
The Documentary's Contentious Origins
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book written by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for claims that the virus was linked to a problematic version of the flu vaccine.
The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively took to social media hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
An Unequivocal Statement
A spokesperson for the actor have provided a response strongly denying claims that he holds anti-immunization views.
"Many acknowledge that corruption might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be equated to rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Neeson is not, and remains not, anti-vax. His extensive work with the global charity highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement continued that the star did not shape the film's narrative and that inquiries about its claims ought to go to the filmmakers.
Key Assertions In the Documentary
As presented, the script spoken by Neeson makes several controversial points:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to health authorities.
- It argues that "research has become highly politicised."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
- The film also criticizes Covid lockdowns, saying they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Regarding Covid vaccines, it references a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."
Past Background and Ongoing Debates
The documentary includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was later the subject of a BBC apology by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr instructed the national health agency to alter its official position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, contrary to a fresh analysis from the global health body stating no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Position of Endorsement
Contrasting the documentary's message, Neeson has previously voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This is not the end of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter."
